Old to some is vintage to many.

Featuring thousands of antiques, collectibles, jewelry, pottery, furniture, clothing, art and everything in between, the first Vintage Tulsa Show is expecting 190-plus vendors from Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas.

"I have a lifelong interest in antiques and collecting, and we've wanted to do this for a while," said show coordinator Gail Kinney. "We feel like this is a great destination so people can make a day of it."

The show mainly features antique and collectible items, Kinney said, and its purpose is to provide a wide variety of items to local shoppers.

And when the SpiritBank Event Center opened in Bixby, organizers realized that was the place to do it.

"We have a lot of dealers who haven't come to Tulsa in a long time," she said, "because there really hasn't been a place where they could set up and do well."

Some examples of unique merchandise offered at the Vintage Tulsa Show are Civil War memorabilia, old metal signs, vintage rock-and-roll posters, and even old movies restored and put on disc.

"And we'll also have vendors with more modern collectibles, such as Longaberger baskets," Kinney said.

If the event is a success, expect more Vintage Tulsa Shows — possibly one every eight weeks or so.

"We want this to become a new regular event for Tulsa," Kinney said. "We feel there a real market for this."

I would like to thank Gail again for the incredible job she and all of the staff did in regards to this event. I was a vendor and had a huge success. I am already signed up for the next event in January. Thank you Gail!!! Floyd C

Well this article is full of false information. There are plenty of places in tulsa that this show could have been held, set up and done well. If the event is in bixby then why is it called the first tulsa vintage show, shouldn't it be called the first bixby vintage show? Notice how tulsa always wants to be front stage?
