'Score' one for Shostakovich

Officially, this takes place Friday, but today's the day to make plans to capture the third episode of "Keeping Score," the innovative music show from Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony. This program features Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5 and uses this piece to examine the great trials and small triumphs of life under Stalin.

Set the DVR: It airs at 1 a.m. KOED Channel 11.

Brand New at the Ballroom

American alt-rock band Brand New brings its spark- ling show to Cain's Ballroom, 423 N. Main St., Thursday night, with special guests Thrice, and the Builders and the Butchers. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show is open to all ages. For tickets and more, see tulsaworld.com/Cains .

Fur real

At KingsPointe, 61st Street and Yale Avenue, Mary-Ruby Apparel will host a fur sale and restyling event Friday and Saturday. James Gamble, a master furrier from Oklahoma City, will be in the store 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days, said the store's owner, Connie Richter.

"Furs are like a thorn in your side if they're hanging there and you don't wear them," Richter said. So customers can bring in their old furs and have them transformed into a more updated silhouette, even a vest.

Home trunk show

Linda Welch will host a trunk show for Diane Snyder at Home 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 12-4 p.m. Sunday. Diane Snyder at Home is a line of fashion accessories, tabletop items and one-of-a-kind gifts, Welch said. For directions or more information, call 742-1255.

Architecture honored

The Tulsa Foundation for Architecture will host its sixth annual Foundation Awards on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the newly renovated Penthouse at the Mayo Hotel and Residences, 115 W. Fifth St.

The Foundation Landmark Award honors a physical artifact, building, structure or place that is a significant part of Tulsa's heritage. The Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award honors a firm or individual distinguished by a life's work devoted to making Tulsa a better place to live. This year's award winners are The Mayo Hotel and Residences (Landmark Award) and Jack Frank (Lifetime Achievement Award).
