Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry has endorsed reparations for damages suffered in the 1921
Tulsa Race Riot, according to a letter from the group's president, Sandra Rana, to Gov. Frank
Keating.
The letter urges passage of House Bill 2468, which provides for the extension of the Tulsa
Race Riot Commission and for reparations proposed by the commission at a meeting on Feb. 4.
A resolution adopted by the ministry's assembly of delegates says reparations would be "a
significant act of reconciliation toward the restoration of justice, good will and trust with
the African American community."
