Update: Hanson concert postponed but there will be a show tonight

Wednesday night’s homecoming show for Tulsa pop act Hanson at Cain’s Ballroom has been indefinitely postponed, according to an email from Debbie Jones, regional manager for ticket outlet Gettix.net, which handles ticket sales for the venue.
Eldest Hanson bandmember, Isaac Hanson, was receiving treatment at an area hospital earlier today for an undetermined ailment, said Ken Philips, the band’s publicity manager.
“Tonight’s show is definitely cancelled,” he said in a phone call to the Tulsa World early Wednesday afternoon.
“There are no results yet” from tests, but Philips did say that Isaac Hanson was admitted to the hospital earlier today with severe shoulder and chest pain. “This could be serious, but nobody knows just yet,” he added. “We are hoping for the best.
“We will be making a public announcement with more details when we get them later this afternoon,” he said.
While the concert is off, there will be a show Wednesday night.
Hanson will offer a free, all-ages fan gathering and DVD screening at 6 p.m. at the Blank Slate, First Street and Elgin Avenue. In addition to viewing Hanson's latest DVD, two bands, Locksley and the Meerkats will play for those assembled.
Zac and Taylor Hanson took part in a one-mile walk Wedneday afternoon from the front doors of Cain’s Ballroom, 423 North Main Street.
The walk -- designed to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and poverty in Africa -- attracted thousands of Hanson fans downtown Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a new show date is pending, and no refunds will be offered at this time, according to Jones’ email.
It is unknown at this time if Isaac Hanson’s illness will force postponement of other shows on Hanson’s nation-wide “The Walk” tour.
