The suspect in a recent
string of violent midtown
home invasions was arrested
Friday.
Gregory Kyle Malone, 20,
was arrested at a relative's
house in Snowflake, Ariz., on
complaints of theft, assault
and outstanding warrants, said
Snowflake Police Sgt. Jerry
Van Winkle.
He's being held at the Navajo County Jail in Arizona.
Malone is charged in Tulsa
County District Court with
one count of first-degree rape,
two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of rob
bery with a dangerous weapon in connection with several
late November and early December crimes.
A woman was awakened
Nov. 26 in her home near
37th Street and Harvard Avenue by a burglar's screaming
demands for jewelry.
She was threatened with a
knife, sexually assaulted and
then forced into a closet, police reports say.
In a Dec. 2 attack in the
2100 block of South Atlanta
Place, an intruder bit and
threatened a resident with a
baseball bat before forcing
him into a closet.
Malone is also suspected in
four additional midtown-area
burglaries. Two occurred Nov.
30 -- one in the 2200 block
of South Rockford Avenue
and one in the 1700 block of
East 19th Street. The other
two occurred Dec. 1 -- one
in the 2400 block of East 18th
Street and one in the 1900
block of East 33rd Place.
Police believe that Malone
fled the Tulsa area two weeks
ago, Allen said.
He likely will face an extradition process in Arizona, said
Tulsa Police Capt. Jim Hunter.
