Shannon Miller's ex-husband files bankruptcy

SEATTLE -- The former husband of Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller of Edmond has filed for bankruptcy in Seattle months after suddenly closing his laser eye surgery business.
Dr. Christopher Phillips closed the business in February without notifying patients.
He filed for bankruptcy in federal court in Seattle July 2 and listed assets of just over $962,000 and liabilities of nearly $4.7 million.
His attorney declined comment.
Miller and Phillips married in a fairy-tale wedding in Oklahoma City in 1999. They divorced in 2006 in Massachusetts with Miller calling the marriage a "painful experience."
Miller grew up in Edmond and won seven medals in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics.
