OSU, OU backs on award watch list

Oklahoma State junior running back Kendall Hunter, last year's Big 12 rushing champion, and Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown are included on the Doak Walker Award watch list released on Tuesday.
The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the top running back in college football. Last season, Hunter rushed for 1,555 yards and 16 touchdowns. For his career, he has averaged 6.5 yards per carry.
Brown was OU's rushing leader last season, totaling 1,220 yards and 20 touchdowns. Murray ran for 1,038 yards and 14 TDs.
Doak Walker Award semifinalists are announced on Nov. 11, while finalists are identified on Nov. 23. The award recipient is announced on Dec. 10, during "The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards" show.
