The Baton Rouge, La., native was honorable mention All-Big 12 despite starting just five games last season. He recorded 3.5 sacks and figures to be an integral part of the Sooners' rotation along the defensive line again this season.
Bigger thrill: Interception or fumble recovery?
Interception, because you can dance a little bit.
Do you like having so many different players contributing on the D-line or would you prefer to be out there every single play?
The way we do it really helps you get your legs back underneath you and lets other guys get their reps in too. I like the rotation we have going this year.
If you weren't playing football, could you play another sport for OU?
Basketball. I loved basketball, and I was getting ready to play my senior year (of high school) but I realized that football was kind of going to be my thing, so I didn't do it.
Who's the best basketball player on the football team?
I'd have to say me.
Do you get to play pickup very often?
We play every now and then, like during Spring Break or in the summer. But during the season is another story. We've gotta save our legs.
Why did you choose Oklahoma over your hometown school, LSU?
Oklahoma has a real winning tradition. There's nothing like coming out and seeing 85,000 people hollering in the stands. When I first came and heard it, it gave me butterflies. I love the OU fans. But if I weren't here, I'd have to say I'd be at LSU.
