HAMPTON - Majel (Rusty) Irene Quetone, passed peacefully away on October 9, 2009 at the age of 81. Majel was born on December 6, 1927 at the Cheyenne Agency in South Dakota. Majel, known as Rusty to her family and friends, spent 19 years as a devoted mother and housewife delighting her family with favorite recipes including chocolate gravy among others. Rusty enjoyed working at various businesses until she retired at age 71. After retirement Rusty engaged in many charitable functions at both the Tulsa Moose Lodge and the American Legion. In her spare time Rusty loved spending time with her large family, traveling, playing Bunco and dominoes as well as entertaining the neighborhood children by joining them in board games. Rusty was preceded in death by: her parents, Fred J. and Laura Sixkiller Quetone; 2 brothers, Fred Quetone Jr. and William W. (Billy) Quetone; and 1 sister, Lottie Mae Davidson. Surviving family members include: her children, Jeff and wife, Helen Hampton (San Antonio, TX); her twins, Melody Hampton (Checotah, OK) and Mickey and wife, Linda Hampton (Collinsville, OK). Rusty also leaves 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Jean Allman and Frances Spraker, 1 brother, Jim Quetone and many nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly. Moore Southlawn will be handling the services. Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 11 from 12 noon until 9 p.m. and Monday, October 12, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Services are scheduled on Tuesday, October 13, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 663-2233.
