Oklahoma rode Tony Crocker’s remarkable first half to an 86-62 victory over Centenary tonight at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Crocker had 13 points before the first television time out, and before Centenary had even scored. He had 16 points before one of his teammates scratched; Tiny Gallon’s basket gave OU an 18-3 lead six minutes after tipoff.
Crocker had 22 points at the midway point of the first half, and 27 when he finally came out of the game with 4:07 still left before halftime, at which point the home crowd gave him a standing ovation.
The Sooners led 47-25 at the break, Crocker showing the way with 29 points, on 7-of-10 3-point shooting, 10 rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
The second half was ho-hum. Crocker didn’t score until 5:16 remained. He finished with a career-high 33 points and 13 rebounds as OU improved to 6-3.
Centenary got 20 points from David Perez in falling to 4-4.
