Constance Alyse (Hood) Ennis, (72) passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010, with her family by her side. Connie was born April 10, 1938, at St. John’s Hospital to Howard Phillip and Patricia Leontine (Garriott) Hood. Connie was preceded in death by her parents. Connie grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1957, and St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She later went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tulsa, her Master’s in Professional Health Occupational Education from Central State University and her Secondary School Administration Certificate from Oklahoma State University. She dedicated her life to the nursing profession. Beginning her career at St. John’s Hospital then devoted herself to teaching nursing for 29 years at Tulsa Technology Center as a Nursing Educator and School Administrator. She retired from Tulsa Tech in 2000, while there she received the OCVA, awarded to her for outstanding dedication and commitment to Vocational-Technical education. Connie is survived by her three children, Patti Braun, Linda Ennis and Michael Ennis. She has four grandchildren, Brett and Zac Braun and Kyle and Avery Ennis. She leaves behind cousin, Gregory Hood (wife, Katie and daughter Gina, nephew, William Barnes (wife Joanne and daughters Maddy and Abby), niece, Heather Barnes King (husband Steve, daughter Candace and son Chris) and sister-in-law, Marilyn Ennis Barnes. She also leaves behind many dear friends. The family would like to thank Doctor John Lohrey and Green Country Hospice for the wonderful care they have given her. A very special thank you goes to her sisterin-law, Marilyn Barnes for her loving care given to Connie in her final weeks of life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Green Country, Life Senior Services or Meals on Wheels in her memory. Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Church of The Madalene with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
