Tulsa co-offensive coordinator Herb Hand appears to have accepted a job on Vanderbilt’s coaching staff, sources told the Tulsa World on Thursday night.
The Golden Hurricane players were informed that Hand will take a job at Vanderbilt in an early evening team meeting, a source confirmed. An official announcement isn't expected until next week.
Hand did not return a message left on his cell phone. TU spokesperson Don Tomkalski would not confirm or deny the report, but did say if there was anything to the announcement, it would be made in the next day or two.
Hand had been the co-offensive coordinator at Tulsa since Graham took over in the 2007 football season.
Vanderbilt’s Robbie Caldwell took over as interim head coach after Bobby Johnson stepped down on July 14. Caldwell was assistant head coach and offensive line coach as Vanderbilt before assuming his new duties.
