Mayor holding news conference today in advance of NCAA tourney

Preparations for the first NCAA men’s basketball tournament games in Tulsa since 1985 continue today with a news conference and other events.
Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Tulsa Metro Chamber president and CEO Mike Neal are scheduled to hold a news conference today in which they will pick brackets for the tournament. That event will be followed by a trolley ride through downtown.
Games on Friday at the BOK Center will include, in the Southwest Regional: No. 1 Kansas (32-2) vs. No. 16 Boston University (21-13); and No. 8 Nevada-Las Vegas (24-8) vs. No. 9 Illinois (19-13).
In the West Regional: No. 5 Arizona (27-7) vs. No. 12 Memphis (25-9) and No. 4 Texas (27-7) vs. No. 13 Oakland (25-9).
