Five local bands will perform outside the BOK Center before big concerts this spring.
The Mike McClure Band, a Red Dirt act, will kick off the ONEOK Outdoor Concert Series before the April 2 Kenny Chesney concert, BOK Center officials announced Monday.
The band will take the stage at 5:30 p.m.
All five shows are free and will take place in the BOK Center Outdoor Plaza, on the corner of Third and Frisco streets.
Admiral Twin will play at 6:15 p.m. April 4 before the Lady Gaga concert, and Radio Radio is set for 5:45 p.m. April 8 before the Kings of Leon show.
Other scheduled acts include Squeezebox and Crossland.
"The ONEOK Outdoor Concert Series encourages guests to visit downtown early, find convenient parking and enjoy some incredible local talent on our plaza," BOK Center General Manager John Bolton said in a press release. "With the support of ONEOK, the BOK Center continues to bring more wonderful local entertainment and a new energy to downtown Tulsa."
The outdoor performances begin two hours before each evening's headlining act inside the BOK Center. Beer and concessions will be available.
