A man who was wearing a cowboy hat and a western shirt robbed a Tulsa bank Friday morning.
Just before 9:40 a.m., the bandit entered the Commerce Bank, 6130 E. 81st St., and handed a teller a note demanding cash and stating that he had a gun, Sgt. Dave Walker said.
The teller handed the robber an undetermined amount of cash, and the suspect walked out of the bank with the money in his hand.
The bandit ran east from the bank and then south before jumping a fence to an apartment building. He was last seen getting into the driver's door of a 1990-2000 model maroon pickup. The vehicle then went south on Sheridan Road.
The robber was described as white, 160 to 170 pounds and in his early thirties. He was wearing a brown cowboy hat with a gold band, a tan western shirt with brown design on the shoulders and cuffs, and blue jeans.
He was described as "unshaven and scruffy."
It was the 10th bank robbery of the year.
