MOORE — A seventh soldier from Oklahoma has died in Afghanistan. Oklahoma Army National Guard Lt. Damon Leehan, of Moore, was killed Sunday by an improvised explosive device.
Leehan, 30, is survived by his wife Audrey Hope Stevens Leehan and two children, according to a Facebook page set up in his honor. He was a Southwest Integris Medical Center X-ray technician, spokeswoman Brooke Cayot has confirmed.
Bill Nance, 58, who also works at the hospital, knew Leehan since Leehan started working at Integris Southwest Medical Center 10 years ago. Both worked as X-ray technicians.
“He (Leehan) was like a son to me,” Nance said, breaking into tears and pausing Tuesday. “He always talked to me about things and confided in me. We were very close.”
