Forty-one-year-old Jay Chiarito-Mazzarelia is facing charges of felony aggravated stalking and disorderly conduct by telephone.
Chiarito-Mazzarelia allegedly confronted Burlington Cpl. Steven Dumas on the phone Sept. 24. after discovering the relationship. Chiarito-Mazzarelia allegedly fired two bullets as they spoke, telling Dumas, "the next one is for you."
Police said that on Sept. 30, Chiarito-Mazzarelia sent Dumas a photo of Chiarito-Mazzarelia and his 2-year-old daughter in front of Dumas' home.
Chiarito-Mazzarelia's lawyer, Paul Jarvis, downplayed the photo.
