Letter to the Editor: Truly ironic
BY Lee Gooch, Broken Arrow

To the “occupiers” I say it is not a
class war. I do not subscribe to any
class nor do most Americans. We
generally take full ownership of our
success. No one owes me anything
and the ones that I owe, I know personally.
That would not be you.
Besides, what makes you think
anyone owes you anything, including
a job? Is it because you were
lucky enough to be an American or
that you went to college and that
somehow gives you an established
right? Or is it that you are owed for
just being a human being?
If you really think the so-called
wealthy are guilty of something,
then why don’t you call for specific
prosecution rather than a greedy
demand for their wealth? Maybe it
is just that you want something that
doesn’t belong to you.
No, you don’t represent 99 percent
of this country, but rather you
represent a much smaller percentage
of individuals who believe they
are simply entitled.
As an American you already have
it better than most people in the
world, yet choose to blame others
for what you still do not have. Even
the poorest Americans lost their
lives fighting wars to maintain our
capitalistic form of government and
freedom. Now, to be threatened
from within by the most economically
advantaged people in the history
of the world is truly ironic.
