A repeat felon accused of beating his girlfriend with a hammer faces charges in the alleged attack.
Bradley O'Neal Bagby, 42, of Tulsa, was charged with kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon, and domestic assault and battery on Friday, Tulsa County District Court records show.
Bagby was jailed Jan. 28 after the woman's family contacted police.
He allegedly took the 40-year-old woman from her apartment at Stonegate Village, 7218 S. 89th East Ave., Tulsa police detectives said.
Witnesses told police they heard screams from the woman's apartment at 1 p.m.
After contacting the woman on her cell phone, police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle she and Bagby were traveling in near 2300 E. 46th St. North and took Bagby into custody at about 10 p.m., detectives said.
The woman refused treatment at the scene.
Bagby remains in the Tulsa Jail. His bond is set at $250,000.
In six of nine felony cases he was named in since 1989, Bagby pleaded to various charges, including robbery by force, second-degree burglary and assault with a dangerous weapon.
He was most recently incarcerated between February 2007 and June 2008 for attempted first-degree robbery.
