Tulsa police have identified the woman who died in a hit-and-run collision Sunday as a Marquette Catholic School teacher.
Susan Mamary, 60, a third-grade teacher at the school, was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital after her car was struck at 51st Street and Hudson Place, police said.
Mamary was driving a silver sedan east when she tried to turn north onto Hudson about 4 p.m., police said. A brown Honda driving west struck her car as it turned.
The Honda's driver, Marquitta Littlebear, 29, reportedly fled on foot and was found a short time later, Officer Leland Ashley said. Police found beer bottles in her vehicle.
She was taken to a hospital but was not immediately arrested, he said. Investigators are awaiting results of a toxicology test to determine whether she had been drinking, Ashley said.
Mamary, a Wichita State University graduate, had taught at the school for 17 years, according to the school's website.
