BROKEN ARROW -- Police are asking for donations of old cell phones to give to victims of domestic assault.
Police want people to bring their old phones to the Broken Arrow Police Department at 2302 S. First Place, where a donation box in the lobby will be accessible at any hour.
Because most phones can call 911 even if they have no service provider, police hope domestic assault victims will use them to call for help, if needed.
The donations will also help keep old phones out of landfills, police said.
