"The fool has said in his heart there is no God" (Psalm 14:1). This quote from the Bible came to mind when I read Steven Copley's letter ("Religiously motivated," Feb. 9), especially the last sentence: "I am the father of school-age children."
He states that "evolution is not a hypothesis, but a tested theory that has stood up to 150 years of scientific criticism." When you take God out of the picture, all you have left is the lie. Every so-called proof of evolution has been shown to be so far-fetched that only those who have chosen to ignore the truth can believe the lie.
The order of the universe, DNA, the egg, the eye, the immune system, are all everyday examples of intelligent design, not randomness, which is the foundation for the theory of evolution.
Why not allow young minds to decide for themselves which makes more sense, evolution or intelligent design? When you look at the world around us with an open mind, then the reality of design and order in our cosmos makes the most sense. It also may reveal a creator who is made evident in what we see around us.
"The heavens declare the glory of God and the expanse of heaven shows his handiwork" (Psalm 19:1)
