A Tulsa woman was shot Friday night in Tulsa when a gun her 22-year-old son had just purchased accidentally discharged, police said.
The son was showing the .45-caliber semiautomatic to a group of people in the kitchen of a home in the 7700 block of South Fulton Place when the firearm accidentally fired shortly before 9:30 p.m., Cpl. Mark Secrist said.
A bullet went through a wall and struck his 44-year-old mother -- who was in the bathroom -- in the right shoulder, Secrist said.
The woman was taken to St. Francis Hospital and was expected to be treated and released, he said.
Their names were not released Friday night.
