It’s simply called “The Tour,” and it’s coming Aug. 26 to Tulsa’s BOK Center.
Rock icons KISS and Motley Crue co-headline the event. Tickets for the all-ages show start are $39, $59, $99 and $127, plus fees, and go on sale noon March 30 via tulsaworld.com/bok, Arby’s Box Office at the BOK Center, all Tickets.com outlets, or by calling 866-7-BOKCTR.
“You are going to see two huge headliners at the same time,” Crue frontman Vince Neil told the Las Vegas Sun. ”It’s going to be one of the biggest tours of the summer, if not the biggest.”
It’s the first time the band will share a stage since 1982.
KISS’ own Paul Stanley said recently that the band planned a 40-plus city tour of the United States. “It’s definitely a year for us to be out there working,” he told Backstage Axxess.
It will be the second time KISS has headlined the BOK Center.
KISS is of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer. Motley Crue is of Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee.
The bands’ combined album sales top 200 million, with more than 30 hit singles. Both are well-known for elaborate stage production, including lighting, pyrotechnics and sound.
Both bands had “countdown clocks” posted to their official websites before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. announcement. In a somewhat anti-climactic moment, both sites postponed official announcements until 4:30 p.m.
