Oral Roberts women's basketball coach Jerry Finkbeiner has been mentioned in connection with a similar vacancy at the University of North Texas.
The Denton Record-Chronicle reported that UNT officials were interested in four potential candidates to replace Karen Aston, who left to become head coach at Texas.
The newspaper also reported that Stetson head coach Lynn Bria was on campus Wednesday, talking to officials about the position.
Finkbeiner is 273-208 with five NCAA Tournament appearances in 16 seasons at the ORU helm.
The Golden Eagles finished 20-11 in 2011-12, winning 20 or more games for third straight year and sixth time in Finkbeiner's tenure. They also participated in the WNIT for the second straight year.
Finkbeiner could not be reached for comment Thursday about the UNT job.
Other potential candidates are Central Arkansas head coach Matt Daniel and McNeese State head coach Brooks Donald-Williams.
Bria has 14 years of head-coaching experience, including the past four at Stetson. She is no stranger to Denton. Her first job as head coach was at Texas Women's University in 1993-96.
