OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Democrats expressed optimism Saturday that President Barack Obama will fare better in Oklahoma this year than four years ago.

Democratic leaders said the president should be able to win at least a couple counties in the Nov. 6 general election. The Democratic president failed to win any of the state's 77 counties in 2008.

"There's no doubt, it's an uphill battle," said Jim Frasier, of Tulsa, who was re-elected national committeeman. "I'm optimistic - we've got 20-plus months of improved economy.

"I feel good about the direction we're headed under Obama," Frasier said. "Certainly he'll do better than he did last time. There's no question in my mind at all about that."
