The high school baseball regular season heads into the home stretch with district titles still to be decided in the large-school classifications.
This is the first season for 6A-5A schools to compete in district groupings to determine postseason seeding. The top two finishers in each district get to host regional tournaments.
Jenks visits Bixby in Monday non-district action, but the Trojans will be watching with interest from afar as Sand Springs visits Mustang to begin a two-game series that should help untangle the District 6A-4 standings.
Jenks, Sand Springs and Mustang are tied at 7-1. Sand Springs hosts the Broncos in the return game at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and Mustang and Jenks play Friday in Mustang and at 1 p.m. Saturday in Jenks.
Claremore is 9-0 atop District 5A-3, needing two wins to clinch home field in the playoffs. The Zebras host Grove on Monday night and visit Grove on Tuesday.
Broken Arrow, Stillwater and Owasso are bunched atop 6A-3. The key games begin when Stillwater visits Broken Arrow at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The same teams meet at noon Saturday in Stillwater, and the Pioneers face Owasso next Monday and Tuesday.
