Carl John Mavers passed away after a long illness Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the age of 92. He was born November 22, 1919 in Coffeyville, Kansas. After serving in the Navy in WWII, he worked for American Airlines where he retired in 1981. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Patsy, their 5 children, Stephen Mavers, Carla Mavers Corn, Martha Mavers Johnson, R. Douglas Mavers, all residing in Tulsa, Lora Mavers Johnson of Grandview, Texas, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Bette Mavers Simpson of Coffeyville, Kansas. He was a hard worker, loyal husband and father, gentle and kind spirited with a great sense of humor and he will be missed by all who knew him.
