A Tulsa woman who was arrested last week on an allegation that she was driving under the influence of drugs with her three children in the car was charged Monday with child endangerment.
April Marie Belt, 28, was arrested after a traffic stop at 49th West Avenue and Charles Page Boulevard on Wednesday.
A Tulsa County sheriff’s deputy saw Belt drive left of center four times within less than half a mile and pulled her over, an arrest report states. The deputy noted that Belt had slurred speech as well as uncontrollable leg and arm movements and tongue chewing.
The report says she told the deputy she was a meth user.
Belt’s three children were unrestrained inside the car, the deputy said. They were later released to Belt’s mother.
Belt is charged with child endangerment, possession of a controlled drug in a jail or penal institution, driving under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended license and failure to carry insurance or security verification form, Tulsa County District Court records show.
She remains in the Tulsa Jail with bail set at $81,800.
