Carrie Underwood dominates CMT awards nominations

Carrie Underwood dominates the nominees list for the 2012 Country Music Television Awards, the organization announced.

The Checotah native claimed five nominations, including video of the year and female video of the year.

Oklahoma transplant Miranda Lambert rode in a close second with four nominations - two for her solo work and two as part of the Pistol Annies.

Rascal Flatts, featuring Picher native Joe Don Rooney, as well as Ada-born Blake Shelton and Miami, Okla., duo Thompson Square each roped three nominations. Moore-raised Toby Keith earned two nominations. Norman-born Vince Gill was nominated for one award.

The 2012 CMT Music Awards air live from Nashville June 6 on CMT and CMT.com.

Fans can vote now through June 4 to help pick winners. Voting can be done at tulsaworld.com/cmt and via the CMT Insider app.
