CHANDLER — Lincoln County investigators are looking into the death of a 4-year-old boy whose parents attend a church where members are known not to seek medical help for illnesses.
Sheriff Charlie Dougherty says Troy Damelio's parents called Thursday to report that he died at the family's mobile home on Oklahoma Highway 18. The parents, whose names weren't released, said the boy had a fever for about a week before he died.
Investigators were told the parents attend Church of the Firstborn. Dougherty said members are known not to seek medical help for illnesses.
Church of the Firstborn member Grace McEntire told KOCO-TV members are told to notify local authorities immediately if a sick child doesn't get medical care.
The Oklahoma medical examiner is trying to determine a cause of death.
