BY Staff Reports
Sunday, April 29, 2012
Bess was born February 21, 1924
in Opello, AR and left this world
April 24, 2012 to be with the Lord
she loved and to return to the side
of the love of her life who died
late last year. She will be missed
by many family and friends who
loved her dearly. As a first job employee
at the garment factory in
Morrilton, AR, she met a wonderful
man who captured her heart
at first glance and that love didn’t
diminish for the next 69 years.
The next love of her life was her wonderful
family. She held each family member in
the highest regard, loving each and everyone
completely. To Bess, family was first.
She is survived by children, Phyllis Kinison
and Ron and Teresa Lay, grandchildren,
Traci Smith, Amber (Lay) and Lance Salyers,
Randy and Ramie Lay, and great-grandchildren,
Ella Jewel Salyers and Ethan Dane
Salyers, a wonderful brother-in-law, four
sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
In 1970, Bess and Earl started Safari
Travel Service. During the next
41 years they made thousands of
friends and provided many brief
trips to nearby fun locations and
longer more exotic trips all across
the United States and Canada.
They treated all clients as family
and provided service that can only
come from a true love for their
fellow man a love they learned
through a deep personal relationship
with their Lord Jesus Christ.
A celebration of Bess’ life will
be held on Monday, April 30, 2012, 10:00
AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel,
Broken Arrow, OK. Family will greet
friends on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 4:00
PM - 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation
