Softball: Cowgirls, Baylor split two

Senior Chelsea Garcia hit a two-run home run on Senior Day, and the
Cowgirls avoided a sweep by No. 25 Baylor, winning
2-0 after a 1-0 loss in the first game.
Kat Espinosa scattered five hits while striking
out three and walking one for her fourth shutout in
the second game for the Cowgirls (24-21 overall,
7-11 Big 12). Only three Bears made it past first
base, and Garcia turned a game-ending double
play in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
Garcia sent her 22nd career homer over the
fence in left field, a line shot that barely cleared the
wall. Senior Julie Ward had led off the inning with
a base hit and also scored.
