There are least two changes in the high school baseball regional schedule.
The Class 6A grouping at Jenks High School has moved forward and will begin Wednesday instead of Thursday, Trojans head coach Dennis Keeley said.
The schedule for the Class 5A tourney at Claremore has been altered slightly to adhere to the OSSAA format for three-team grouping.
The Claremore grouping has an odd number of teams because Tulsa Central did not participate in baseball, leaving Class 5A with 31 schools.
Although the tourney moves forward a day at Jenks, the time schedule remains the same.
Jenks faces Edison at 11 a.m. Wednesday and Bishop Kelley plays Enid at 1 p.m. The first-round winners play at 3 p.m. and the first-round losers at 5 p.m.
Play continues at Jenks with games at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Tournaments in 6A-5A were mandated to begin on Thursday unless changed by mutual consent of competing schools.
At Claremore on Thursday, Pryor faces Collinsville at 1:30 p.m., Claremore faces the first-game loser at 4 p.m. and the first-game loser at 6:30.
If all three teams are 1-1 after the first day, Pryor plays Collinsville at 4 p.m. Friday and the winner plays Claremore at 6:30 for the regional title. Claremore receives the bye as the highest-seeded team in the district.
If one team is 2-0 and one team is 1-1 after the first day, then the teams meet at 4 p.m. Friday for the championship, with an “if” game to follow if necessary.
