A group of local investors has purchased a 45-acre tract of land in Coweta with the intent to create more retail in the area.

TJT Enterprises Inc., which lists Christie Gilleland as its primary contact, purchased the undeveloped land from Arvest Bank for $1.8 million.

Gilleland said TJT picked up the land just south of the Walmart store in an effort to encourage development.

"With everything going on in Coweta lately, we saw it as a good buy to get involved and help build the community," she said.

The group has been planning site development with the city for six months, although the plan is to develop infrastructure and then sell the lots to other developers.

Gilleland said TJT wants to start site improvement as soon as possible.

Nick Lombardi of Stan Frisbie Real Estate LLC brokered the transaction.
