BROKEN ARROW – The Broken Arrow Tigers won last year’s Class 6A state baseball title, and the Tigers punched their ticket Friday for a return trip.

Jacob Evans pitched and hit the No. 1 Tigers to a 2-0 win over No. 13 Union in the final of the regional tournament at the BA diamond.

Evans fanned 10 Redskins, allowed only two hits and drove in the game’s first run with an RBI double in the first inning, scoring Zack Mills, who led off the inning with a double.

BA improved to 33-4 while Union, which beat Bixby 2-0 in an elimination game, ended its season 24-15.

Union 2, Bixby 0: Union’s Zach McNally and Bixby’s Jackson Anthony threw twin three-hitters, but Union scored twice on errors by the Spartans (15-17).
