Academy Central students Maliyah Rice (left) and Kailee Parnosky sell lemonade and cookies to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House on Sunday. The third-grade students, whose mentor is Academy Central parent coordinator Kim Graham, have one of 600 lemonade stands across the city of Tulsa learning about giving back to the community. The students chose to help the Ronald McDonald House to purchase toothbrushes, detergents and other personal items for families to use while their loved ones are in the hospital. The students raised about $130. The project also helped the third-graders learn about running a small business and how to help others.
