EDMOND - Evan Lanoue allowed two runs on five hits, striking out eight, before Mason Mantle came on for the save as Metro Christian downed Henryetta 4-2 in the first round of the Class 3A state baseball tournament on Thursday.
Metro Christian's Jacob Plett went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Colt Williams had three hits for Henryetta.
Plainview 9, Salina 8: Plainview blew a five-run lead, then came back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to eliminate Salina. Garrett Foster scored Plainview's game-winning run on a Salina error - the last of three committed by the Wildcats. Salina had two errors in the first inning, which contributed to Plainview scoring five times.
Jones 2, Marlow 0: The Jones Longhorns' plan of riding Blake Estep and Taylor Bilyeu to a Class 3A baseball title is working so far.
