Letter to the Editor: Get off my lawn

After reading the letters to the editor, the difference in philosophies between the left and the right is quite evident.

The lefties think the government should supply welfare, food stamps, rent subsidies, cell phones, etc. The righties think government should get out of their lives and businesses and if they are fortunate enough to make a million bucks, they are considered successful, not “cash cows” like President Barack Obama and his stooges see them.

I would guess, if one of those less fortunate lefties gets lucky and finds himself “rich,” he probably would join the righties and be wary of the government too. I’m also guessing they will be spending less time in the casinos and waiting in line at the welfare office, but I’m just guessing.

My advice to them is, if someone knocks on their door and says, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help,” then steal Clint Eastwood’s line from the movie “Gran Torino” and with squinty eyes, say, “Get off my lawn!”
