5A baseball: Carl Albert edges Claremore in state championship, 6-2

Top-ranked Carl Albert scored five runs in the game's first two innings on its way to a 6-2 decision over second-ranked Claremore in the Class 5A state baseball championship on Saturday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

Gavin LaValley and Alex Poston each drove in a pair of runs and Taylor Hawkins went 2-for-3, including a home run, and scored twice to pace Carl Albert (38-3).

Austin Brown and J.P. Seifried each drove in runs for Claremore (32-5).
