Senate Bill 1627
Details: Creates the Oklahoma Energy Initiative to advance research and development.
Author: Sen. Brian Bingman, R-Sapulpa.
Where it stands: Passed the Senate 40-0, enrolled and sent to the governor.
Senate Bill 1222
Details: Styled the Oklahoma Veterans Treatment Act, it would allow any district or municipal court in the state to establish a veterans treatment program with the assistance of the state Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse.

Where it stands: Senate rejected House amendments, conference requested and granted.
Senate Bill 1797
Details: Creates the Commission for Educational Quality and Accountability headed by the secretary of education, a position appointed by the governor and six members also appointed by the governor. The commission will assume many of the responsibilities now performed by other boards and commissions, including oversight of provisions of the landmark HB 1017, teacher preparation and certification and performance testing.
