OWASSO -- Major breaks along a city of Tulsa water line have caused a water outage today for several hundred customers east of Owasso in Rogers County.

Two valves failed on a 24-inch feeder line, which serves the Owasso area and Rogers County Rural Water District No. 3, said Steve Newcomb, the district’s plant and field supervisor.

The outage is affecting an area roughly 76th Street North to 106th Street and 145th East Avenue to 209th East Avenue, Newcomb said.

The leaks are scheduled to be repaired by Monday evening, he said. In the interim, the city of Owasso is providing the district a water feed to mitigate the water shortage, Newcomb said.
