AM “Joe” Johannsen passed away on Monday, May 14. Born on June 3, 1939 in Gotteskoog, Germany to Nis and Serina Johannsen. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war before moving to Tulsa where he graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics. For over 30 years he served as a F.A.A. Examiner. He retired from American Airlines in 2003 as a Tech Crew Chief. He is predeceased by his wife Billie Sue. He is survived by two daughters, Dana Connella and her husband Mike of Talala, Jana Johannsen of Tulsa; two grandchildren, Mikela and Matthew Connella of Talala; two brothers, Janne and Siegfried Johannsen of Germany, and many other friends and relatives. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by many. Funeral Service to be held Friday, May 18th, 2012, 12:30 p.m. at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
