Bristow third-year starter Adam Lomenick could be one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the area.

"He's not as well-known as other guys, but I feel like he's every bit as good as the quarterbacks on the East side of the state," coach Mike Legg said.

Lomenick threw for 2,168 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior and is among eight offensive starters who return in 2012. The Pirates also could have a star in the making in sophomore Blaylen Crawford.

"He's one of the best backs I've ever coached as far as vision goes," Legg said. "He's going to be a special running back.

"The teams we played in junior high know him, and a lot of people are expecting great things from him."

Another skill player is wideout Josh Crockett, who has grown to 6-foot-3. Defensively, seven starters will be back as Bristow tries to improve on its 6-5 record from last year.

"We're really looking forward to this season and seeing how everything is finally coming together for these kids," said Legg, who will be in his third year as head coach. "There's potential for it to be a good year for the Bristow Pirates."
