Dennis Wharton's letter ("Choices," May 26) regarding trash cart sizes was right on the money. Why in the world would a household with two elderly people need the same size recycle container as a family of 10? We recycle everything at our house, but will not fill the elephant-sized container in a month. If they do not change that misguided decision, we will probably have to stop recycling because I have no place to store the large container.
Common sense seems to be an elusive item with the trash board. The board finally did "listen to the public" when it came to the size of the trash container customers would receive. However if the board had listened to the public in the first place, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
