A man was shot and another injured during a fight at a busy Tulsa convenience store Friday morning, police said.

A fight involving a baseball bat at the intersection of 71st Street and 92nd East Avenue spilled into the parking lot of a nearby QuikTrip, where multiple gunshots were then fired, Sgt. Dave Walker said.

Police believe the man who was shot was involved in the altercation. He was taken by private car in critical condition to Hillcrest Hospital South where he underwent surgery Friday, Walker said.

A 30-year-old man who was also believed to be involved in the fight was transported to St. John Medical Center in fair condition.

Police named Terrell Deon Moore as a “person of interest” in the incident. Police are searching for Moore, who is described as a 26-year-old black male with brown eyes and hair and has tattoos on his neck.

Police were called to the scene about 10 a.m.

That was about the time Pam Farney was coming out of the front doors of the store and heard what sounded like gunfire.

“I looked up and gunshots started one right after another,” Farney said.

Police found multiple shell casings at the scene as well as the baseball bat they believe was used in the altercation.

Police think four men were involved in the confrontation, two in each group.

Farney said that when she realized what was happening, she ducked down behind her car.

“I crouched down and air started blowing out of my tire right by my foot,” she said. “The guy just kept shooting.”

Another bullet was lodged in the passenger side of her car, which was parked near the store’s front doors.

“People were falling down and ducking and taking cover any way they could,” she said.

A dark-colored sedan with possible window damage fled the scene headed west on 71st Street and possibly southbound on Memorial Drive, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting or Moore is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677). Tips may also be submitted online at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers.
