Oral Roberts University, which has played ambitious non-conference schedules during the Scott Sutton era, has agreed to a one-game deal to play at Memphis next season.

The game came about because Memphis wound up with an unexpected vacancy on its non-conference schedule next season. Detroit was scheduled to play Memphis, but will be unable to do so because of a conflict related to conference realignment.

Memphis coach Josh Pastner told the Memphis Commercial Appeal that he hoped to replace the Detroit game with a game against the Golden Eagles.

"They're like Detroit," Pastner told the newspaper in reference to ORU. "They're gonna be a top-100 RPI team, so it keeps us at a high level in terms of RPI."

The game is expected to take place in late December.
