House struck by lightning; roof catches fire

A house was damaged in a fire after being struck by lightning early Friday, firefighters said.
The roof was on fire when firefighters arrived in the 7000 block of East 89th Street about 5:30 a.m., firefighters said. Damage was confined mainly to the attic, firefighters said.
The home's residents, two adults and two children, were unharmed.
