Letter to the Editor: Correct the memory lapse
BY Donna Reynolds Diggdon, Tulsa
Tuesday, June 19, 2012
Recently, several people noted that
during an interview on Channel 6 by
Terry Hood her guest had a mental
lapse as to who founded the Tulsa Glass
Blowing Studio. The founding artist
was Sarah M. Diggdon, who rented an
empty warehouse on 19 E. Brady in a
dangerous neighborhood and invested
her personal wealth and many 14-hour
days to create the first hot glass blowing
studio in Tulsa, which was named The
Gathering Place. Sarah taught many
students and was interviewed several
times by Hood as the founder of the
gallery. Later the name was changed to
the Tulsa Glass Blowing Studio when
Diggdon took the gallery non-profit to
keep the gallery viable.
The lapse of memory by Hood’s guest
needs to be corrected on Channel 6.
