Julianne Flint Smith Pringle, 82, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012. Julie was born April 19, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Kenneth Stanton Flint and Irene Horton Flint Gibson. At an early age, they moved to Tulsa where she graduated from Holland Hall School. She attended Briarcliff Junior College in New York and transferred to the University of Tulsa where she became a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She worked at First National Bank of Tulsa as an assistant to the President’s secretary. In 1953, she married Walter Douglas Smith, Jr. In 1976, she remarried Ralph Phillips “Phil” Pringle and traveled the world during their marriage. She loved people and always made friends wherever she went; a gracious lady of great faith, strength and generosity. Julie was an inspiration to all with her continual battle with cancer; never giving up hope and making the best of her situation. Her civic activities included the Junior League of Tulsa, Tulsa Opera and volunteer work at the church and a member of Cedar Ridge Country Club. She enjoyed tennis years ago and was an avid bridge player, member of Tout Le Monde, and earned her Regional Master and working toward her NABC Master. Julie loved spending time with her family and friends. Julie Pringle was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Flint Breckinridge of Tulsa, Melinda Gibson Bardin of Portland, Oregon; brother Mike and Donna Gibson of Houston, Texas; daughters and spouses Sheri Smith Renfrow and Kent of Tulsa and Susie Smith Kemp and Brad of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Rusty and Carter Renfrow and Michelle, Ford and Tricia Kemp. She is also survived by her loving step-children and spouses Barbara and Phil Pringle, Jr. of Ft. Collins, CO, Kate and John Pringle of Los Angeles, CA, Polly Pringle Durst and Duane of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Margie Pringle Brown of Tulsa; grandchildren Phillips and John Pringle, Elizabeth Durst and Libby, John, and Chris Brown; and great-granddaughter Taylor Brown. The family would like to thank the special nurses that were in her life over the last year especially Ollie Hampton and Brandy McDonald as well as her chauffeur Jerry Garrison. A special recognition and gratitude to Julie’s team of doctors in Tulsa that helped her through these past 16 months: Dr. John Mowry, Dr. Scott McHam, Dr. Nathan Uy, Dr. Patrick Ross, Dr. Victor Test, Dr. Richard Kacere, Dr. John Forrest, Dr. Jerry First and Dr. Thomas FX Rapacki. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 501 South Cincinnati Avenue; Tulsa, Oklahoma under the direction of Stanleys Funeral Home, 918-743-6271.
